E. Interval Examination

  1. After completing the thesis outline review, students must wait four months before their thesis undergoes plagiarism detection via the university's internal system. Following this, the thesis must be submitted to the advisor for signature approval, undergo an initial graduation review by the department, and receive the department head's signature. The thesis defense application must then be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs for final approval before the Interval Examination can proceed.
  2. Students must declare their thesis topic, advisor, and Interval Examination within the timeframe specified by the university. Advisors should primarily be faculty members of this institution; however, external advisors with appropriate qualifications may be appointed when special circumstances warrant.
  3. The Interval Examination committee shall consist of at least three members (including the advisor, with at least one from within the university and one from outside the university), jointly determined by the department chair and the advisor.
  4. The oral examination for the thesis shall be passed when more than half of the committee members approve and the average score reaches 70 points. The oral examination is conducted once per semester. Students who fail the oral examination but have not yet reached the maximum period of study may apply to retake it, limited to one attempt. The passing score for the retake shall be recorded as the actual score obtained. Students who fail the degree examination even after retaking it shall be dismissed.
  5. Master's theses shall be written in Chinese as a general rule, and may be written in English or Russian; however, the thesis title and abstract must still be written in Chinese.
